The Last President?

We are now a week past one of the most critical presidential elections in America of all time. The response of people (whose candidate didn’t win) has been the strongest I’ve ever seen.

“We, the People” of Response

This is not the first time we’ve had a Democratic president re-elected, but it’s the first time I’ve seen people respond to an election by saying they are distressed, worried, depressed and afraid for our future. I’m not saying those fears are unfounded. However…

I think what a lot of people are feeling is a result of the fact that we are in the very last days and that we are rushing toward the book of Revelation at warp speed. My first thought when I heard the election result was, “Ok, this is it. We’re out of time. No more extensions. We are a nation under judgment.”

“We, the People” of Choice

We have to realize that as a nation, “we, the people” have chosen for our national leadership a political party who calls the murder of unborn children a choice and who supports homosexuality. Our cup of sin is full to overflowing. The judgment of God is the result and consequence of such blatant, immoral, rebellious behavior – the behavior of America – which can be seen in her entertainment industry and ever-increasing tolerance for mainstreaming full-on hedonism. How can God not bring judgment?

We have to understand that doesn’t mean He’s going to start zapping people with lightning bolts, but a nation that indulges in sin will be eaten from the inside out. Sin is a poison and it will destroy us. We may self-destruct or we may become weak enough that our enemies will attack us. Either way, America is not a world power in the book of Revelation, so something happens to cause her fall.

“We, the People” of God

But when all these things happen—as they have been predicted in the Word of God—what are we to do?

Jesus, speaking about the end of the age said, “When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near” (Luke 21:38.)

Stand up. Lift up our heads. Jesus is coming soon. The rapture of the Church will happen shortly. We need to be ready. We need to look up and trust in our Jesus. We can rejoice that He is coming for us.

AND, we need to take this opportunity to speak up and tell people about Jesus. When people are worried about the future and they are looking for answers, they are a little more open to the possibility the God is not just a “reality for some,” but that He might be the answer they’re looking for. Indeed. God loves each one and doesn’t want to leave anyone behind. Jesus is still the only way to heaven and because of His love for us; He made sure everyone could come if they will choose Him. We need to tell them because…

We may have just elected the last President of the United States before the rapture takes place.
